Kingdom Kare Learning Center is one of the fastest-growing childcare providers in metropolitan Detroit, expanding from a single facility in 2013 to three centers, with a fourth in development. Founded by LaKendra Hampton and Shahita Garrett, the center is built on a hands-on, nurturing approach to child development, creating an environment where children feel supported in their growth and maturation.
As a faith-inspired learning center, Kingdom Kare partners with faith-based organizations to provide a loving, structured educational experience. The journey began when the late Bishop Steven J. Bennett Sr. offered Hampton an opportunity to open a daycare within House of Prayer & Praise Ministries. Recognizing the potential, she teamed up with Garrett, and together they combined their in-home daycare services to establish the first Kingdom Kare Learning Center in 2013.
Their success quickly attracted attention, leading to an invitation from Love Life Family Christian Center in Eastpointe, Michigan, to open a second location in 2015. Further expansion followed in 2017 with the opening of a third center at Oakland Avenue Baptist Church in midtown Detroit. Through strong community partnerships and a dedication to fostering a warm, family-like atmosphere, Kingdom Kare continues to grow, providing high-quality early childhood education across the region.
